The silent cabbyA London cab driver picked up a lady who was a notorious chatterbox. He did not want to engage in conversation, so he pretended to be deaf and dumb. He pointed to his mouth and ears to indicate that he could neither speak nor hear .After she alighted（从公共汽车、火车等下来）, he pointed to the meter(里程表) so that she could see how much she owed. She paid him and walked off. Then she realized that he could not have been a deaf mute. How did she know?
He must have heard intial instructions or he would not have known where to take her.
Crazy womanA woman, while at the funeral of her own mother, met this guy whom she did not know. She thought this guy was amazing. She believed him to be her dream man and she fell in love with him right there. But she did not ask for his number and, no matter how hard she tried, she could not find him. A few days later she killed her sister. Question: What is her motive in killing her sister?The man appeared at the funeral of her mother, so she believed that she would see that man again at the funeral of her own sister.
Jail breakJack is placed in a cell with a dirt floor, and only one window positioned so high, no one could reach it. The cell is empty except for a shovel. It’s dry and hot in there, but Jack won’t get any food or drink anytime soon. He has only 2 days to break out of the jail. If not, he will die. We know what you have immediately thought, but no! Digging a tunnel is not an option as it will take more than 2 days! How should Jack escape the jail?
He had to use the shovel to make a pile of dirt under the window, climb on it, and escape from the cell.
Two pills 5.19
A serial killer had a particular practice going : He kidnapped people and made them take one of the two pills.One was harmless; the other was poisonous. Whichever pill a victim took, the serial killer took the other one. Then the scheme repeated itself continuously: victims took their pill with water and died. The killer repeatedly survived. How did he always get the harmless pill?
The killer was tricking people. The poison was in the glass of water his victims drank, not in the pill.
